Mighty Mouth - Love Class (feat. Han Ye Seul)
Mighty Mouth is a two-man hip hop group that I know very little about, so I can't say much other than I like this song a lot. ^^;;
I really like female and male vocals in combination, I like the contrast. It's kind of rare in Kpop, because the genders are split into different all-male and all-female groups. But colab songs are still popular, especially with artists under the same label.
Anyways, I really like the upbeat, bubblegum-y female vocals (performed by Han Ye Seul). I found myself humming that tune for a couple days wondering what song it was. It's pretty catchy.
The music video is very pop-arty and has a innocent, childish feel to it. It's bright, colorful and fun, just like the song. The song is called "Love Class", and in the video Mighty Mouth learns about love, through a series of lessons. Uee from After School and Hyuna from 4minute appear in this video, looking super cute! (Though when I first saw it I mistook Uee for Sohee of Wonder Girls. ^^;;)
(Can you find the Napoleon Dynamite reference?)
Watching this video, I couldn't help but be reminded of another hip hop music video with a pop-art theme.
Hocus Pocus - Hip Hop (feat. The Procussions)
I like this video a lot. I bet you wouldn't have guessed french & hip hop would go so well together. Or maybe you did... good job! I like Hocus Pocus a lot, even though I don't understand french. There's a lot of english in this video, and the lyrics are actually pretty interesting, so please, take a listen! I really like the message :) this is what music, not just hip hop, should be about. [...Says the girl who loves so-called "factory-produced" kpop groups. But that's a topic for a different post.]
The music video is again very pop-art inspired, although this one is a lot truer to the Andy-Warhol-classic-pop-art style. I like to think of hip hop as the pop art of music, they seem to go so well together.
